Saturday 2nd November

U11 Boys Single
NCW Town v Askeaton/Kilcornan
A nice early start saw the U11 boys play a great game against NCW Town. Everyone played the full match and we were on it from the start. We led four times in the game with 3 goals from Mike Mulvihill and one from TJ Mulcaire. Great work down the left from man of the match Ruairi Flanagan who never stopped running, tackling and tracking back. The game was a pleasure to watch and that’s 2 draws in the first 2 games for us.
Well played all.

U12 Girls Div 1
Abbeyfeale Utd 1-3 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Mia O’ Shaughnessy (3)
Our U12 girls travelled to Abbeyfeale on Saturday afternoon and dominated the first half of the game. Mia O’ Shaughnessy got her first goal 20 minutes into the first half and scored her second from tipoff leaving us 0-2 up after 22 minutes.
Abbeyfeale scored a lucky goal on the 30th minute. Half time score 1-2.
Aimee Quirke was very unlucky hitting the post 15 minutes into the 2nd half.
Mia O’ Shaughnessy got her hat-trick from a Cailin Purtill well taken corner.
Final score 1-3.
Fabulous away win.
U13 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 1-3 Rathkeale
Danny Anglim
Our U13 lads were very unlucky losing 3-1 to Rathkeale. Had good chances in the first half but went into half time 2 down. We came out strong in the second half and had a goal disallowed for offside. We got a goal back to bring it back to 2-1. Everyone fought hard to get the equaliser but we got caught on a counter and went down 3-1 in the dying minutes.
Great performances all over the field and each young man can be very proud of themselves.
U15 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 0-0 Creeves Cel
Our U15 boys played Creeves in Askeaton on Saturday afternoon.
We had a lot of the play but didn’t create too many chances. Our defence played well limiting Creeves to a couple of half chances.
Final score 0-0
U16 Girls Div 2
Abbeyfeale Utd 7-2 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Our U16 girls travelled to Abbeyfeale for a 12 noon kick off. We went down 7-2 but football is funny. A great crowd travelled to watch our girls give their best preformance of the season, how can that be you may ask, well it was so unlucky at times. First half an hour we really played some terrific stuff and should have been up 3 nil, they broke and scored. Caoimhe levelled it with a cracking run and strike. Two minutes before the break they hit two high shots which Ellie just could not reach over her head.
At 3-1 down in the second half we found it slow to get going, another couple of deflections and we found ourselves further behind but to be fair we didn’t lie down and got our second which we totally deserved. All 15 players gave it their all and as I said at the start of this report played some of our best football of the season. After the game Abbeyfeales manager couldn’t believe the result, it didn’t reflect the game. Its hard to lose but I think the girls can build on this. Hard to pick a player of the match for us but I will give it to Siofra.
