U10 Girls
GB Rovers v Askeaton/Kilcornan
U10 girls had their first match back after the Christmas break against GB Rovers and were excellent. Both teams played some great soccer and loads of game time for everyone.
U12 Girls Div 1

Our u12s had another super win on Saturday against a determined Ballingarry side. We started the game with flurry of attacks and it took some great defending and goalkeeping to keep the game at 0-0. Gemma in goals had very little to do in the opening half but when called into action she performed superbly. We got our breakthrough midway through the first half after some brilliant pressing and pressure from our front 2 of Cailín and Mia. With the second goal coming quickly after we were now well on top with our midfield 3 of Amy, Laura and Amy doing great work with and without the ball. The second half was played in a similar fashion and our defenders were being as mean as ever in giving away chances as had been the case all season. You could see the frustration of the opposition as Zoe, Orla and Allie repelled everything that was thrown at them on every occasion. From the bench with fresh legs came Amelia, Aoibhinn, Aliyah and Kate and all performed brilliant which meant there was no let up for Ballingarry who were glad to hear the fulltime whistle with the game finishing 5-0. Well done to Mia who got a hatrick and Laura who got our other 2 goals. Brilliant team effort again girls.

Askeaton/Kilcornan 0-2 Abbeyfeale Utd
It took two strikes from way outside the box to beat us on Saturday afternoon playing against a really good Abbeyfeale side. Our girls were outstanding all over the park and you can only admire the performance. It’s always disappointing to lose, but the girls were pleased with the performance, probably our best to date. The large home support will agree girl of the match was really hard, but Kate really played a captains role yesterday and it spurred all our girls into a great performance.

ASKEATON KILCORNAN AFC 50/50 SPLIT THE POT!!
Our Split the Pot draw was held on Tuesday 4th February in Askeaton clubhouse. The winner of €120 was Mark Braddish
Split the Pot is our weekly fundraiser for Askeaton Kilcornan AFC. You can enter by writing your name and contact number on the envelope and place your €2 into the envelope. The envelope should be placed into one of the buckets located in SuperValu, Centra, Top of the Town Bar, Cagney’s Bar, Shanahan’s Shop, Boss Barbers, Brian Collins Bookmakers, Moran’s Hardware, Askeaton Soccer Pitch and Kilcornan Community Hall. You can also enter online at www.askeatonkilcornanafc.ie The draw is held every Tuesday evening. Half of the money entered into the draw is given in prize money and the other half goes towards funding activities for our club.
