U12 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 5-3 Carrig Cel
Jason O Donnell (4)
Mike O Shaughnessy
Super performance from our players in terrible conditions against a good Carrig team. All the squad gave it everything they had to land a deserved victory and another 3 points.

U12 Boys Div 4
Abbeyfeale Utd B 3-0 Askeaton/Kilcornan B
Very proud of the players that turned out in extremely bad weather. With very heavy rain in the second half we held on until the last ten minutes of the game but unfortunately conceded three late goals from a very strong Abbeyfeale side.

U14 Boys Div 3
NCW Town B 0-3 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Paddy Harty
Darragh O’ Shaughnessy
Mark McDonagh
The lads worked really hard in this game with 10 players and a strong wind against them in the first half, but at half time we went in 1 nil up thanks to a great finish from Paddy Harty. Second half, lads again worked tirelessly and we finally got the well deserved 2nd goal from a Darragh O’Shaughnessy free kick. Again the lads put a great defensive performance to hold out a few Newcastlewest attacks, and special thanks to a great performance in goals from Paudie Ryan making some great saves to keep us 2 up. Then Mark McDonagh with a great run from inside his half and a super finish from edge of the box put the game out of reach. We have to mention how hard the lads worked as a team to get this result. Well done.

Sunday 10th December

Weekly Observer Division One
Askeaton/Kilcornan AFC 2-3 Shannonside FC
Kenneth O’ Donoghue (2)
The home team led through Ken O’Donoghue after 30 minutes after great work on the right wing by Sean Whelan. We had more chances to increase our lead but didn’t take them. Ht 1-0
We continued to dominate possession in the second half and increased our lead through O’Donoghue again. A through ball by Ray Kelly released Sam Duggan who beat the keeper but not the post but O’Donoghue was quickest to react. With 15 minutes remaining the visitors pulled a goal back with only their 2nd shot on target. This galvanised the away and they scored 3 times in 10 minutes to turn the game on its head.
A disappointing result but we need to pick ourselves up for next week

Weekly Observer Division Three
Askeaton/Kilcornan B 5-0 Glantine B
(HT 2-0)
Alex Ryan (2)
Mick Boyce (2)
Chris Kelly
Great result for the lads in absolutely terrible weather conditions. A brace from Alex Ryan had us up 2 nil at half time. Mick Boyce made it 3 early in the second half, a perfectly taken free by Chris Kelly made it 4-0 before Mick Boyce headed one home to finish out a great performance.
