We wrapped up the season in style with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Abbeyfeale Utd in the Riedy Cup Final, claiming some well-deserved silverware at Mick Hanley Park.
The decisive moment came in the 21st minute when goalkeeper Kevin Walsh launched a precise kick-out that found Thomas McCarthy. Showing great control and composure, Thomas broke through and finished clinically to put us ahead.
Despite few clear-cut chances for either side, the lone goal proved enough. Both teams battled intensely, but our defensive discipline saw us hold firm until the final whistle.
Substitution proved crucial, with Diarmaid O’Connor, Patrick Ivess, Zach Birdthistle, and Cormac O’Keeffe all coming on to help see out the result.
After the match, John McCarthy was named Man of the Match for a standout performance, while captain Alan Ryan proudly lifted the Riedy Cup to the delight of teammates and supporters.

AWARDS NIGHT
With our season concluding last night, we held our awards night in the Top of the Town Bar to celebrate a fantastic year for both Junior teams.
The Junior A team enjoyed a stellar season, earning promotion to the Premier Division and winning the Riedy Cup. Meanwhile, the Junior B team also had great success, gaining promotion to Division 2 and finishing as runners-up in the Division 3 League Cup.
Congratulations to all the players and the management team — Gary Manning, Pat Fitzgerald, Declan Moane, Brian O’Shaughnessy, and James O’Shaughnessy — on a fantastic achievement!”
Medals were presented to players for their achievements in both competitions, and individual awards were handed out as follows:

ASKEATON KILCORNAN AFC 50/50 SPLIT THE POT!!
Our Split the Pot draw was held on Tuesday 10th June in Askeaton clubhouse. The winner of €115 was Killian Fitzgerald.
Split the Pot is our weekly fundraiser for Askeaton Kilcornan AFC. You can enter by writing your name and contact number on the envelope and place your €2 into the envelope. The envelope should be placed into one of the buckets located in SuperValu, Centra, Top of the Town Bar, Cagney’s Bar, Shanahan’s Shop, Boss Barbers, Brian Collins Bookmakers, Moran’s Hardware, Askeaton Soccer Pitch and Kilcornan Community Hall. You can also enter online at www.askeatonkilcornanafc.ie The draw is held every Tuesday evening. Half of the money entered into the draw is given in prize money and the other half goes towards funding activities for our club. We thank you all for your continued support of this fundraising initiative, it is very much appreciated.
