Monday 8th September

U12 Boys Div 2
Shannonside 3-1 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Sean Anglim
The U12s were away to Shannonside on Monday evening, and there were plenty of positives to take from the performance.
We went in at half-time level at 1–1, thanks to a well-taken equaliser from Sean Anglim. After the break, the team pushed on in search of a winner, but unfortunately, we went 2–1 down. Despite this setback, the lads kept battling and looked to get back into the game. However, as fatigue set in, we conceded another goal.
It was a great game to watch, with lots of effort and determination on display. The team continues to improve with every match.
Man of the Match: Ronan Duffy
Well done, lads!

U12 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 2-2 Dromore Utd A
Sean Anglim
Mya Kelly
The U12 boys took on Dromore in Askeaton and delivered a fantastic performance. Goals from Sean Anglim and Mya Kelly put us 2-0 ahead. Although Dromore pulled one back against the run of play, we nearly extended our lead when Luke Mungovan hit the post.
In a tense finish, we conceded two penalties, one missed, the other converted, bringing the score to 2-2. The team showed great resilience to hold on for the draw.
A brilliant effort from all, with clear signs of improvement every game. Well done to all the boys and girls!
Player of the Match: Mya Kelly – well done!

U16 Boys Div 2
Shountrade 2-4 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Darragh O’Shaughnessy (2)
Adam O’Driscoll
Tom Harty
Our U16 boys team delivered a strong performance to earn a 4-2 away victory over Shountrade. With a large panel of 16 players, including several from the U15 squad, the team started brightly.
We opened the scoring when Adam O’Driscoll reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and calmly finished with his left foot. Shountrade responded to level the game at 1-1, but we regained control with well-taken goals from Tom Harty and Darragh O’Shaughnessy, giving us a deserved 3-1 lead at halftime.
The second half began positively, and with about 15 minutes remaining, Darragh O’Shaughnessy was fouled in the box after a superb run and confidently converted the resulting penalty to make it 4-1. Shountrade pulled one back to reduce the deficit to 4-2 with around ten minutes to play, and they pushed hard in the closing stages. However, our defense held firm under pressure to secure the win.
A great all-round team performance, and this result makes it two wins from two away games so far this season.

Division 2 League Cup Group B
Askeaton/Kilcornan AFC B 2-3 Abbeyfeale United B
Colm O’Flaherty 54’ (Assist Stephen Carrig)
Joe Barrett 68’ (Assist Lee Maune)
We found ourselves 2–0 down after Abbeyfeale struck in the 24th and 51st minutes. However, we responded brilliantly in the second half. Colm O’Flaherty pulled one back in the 54th minute, and after making some key changes, we took control of the game. Our efforts paid off when Joe Barrett equalised in the 68th minute. We created several chances in the final 15 minutes and came close on multiple occasions, but in the final minute of normal time, Abbeyfeale snatched a late winner.
