U7 Boys
Our U7 boys took part in a blitz on Saturday morning on the Kilcornan astro, facing teams from Ballingarry and Dromore Utd. All the lads enjoyed plenty of game time, making it a fun and memorable morning for everyone.

U15 Boys Preliminary Cup Round 1
Ballingarry 1-1 Askeaton/Kilcornan (Aet)
Dylan Sheahan
(Penalties 4-5)
We advance to the next round of the U15 Boys Cup after a dramatic and hard-fought contest in Ballingarry that had everything, goals, grit, extra-time tension, and a nerve-shredding penalty shootout.
The hosts struck first taking a 1-0 lead but the lads showed real character, heads never dropped, and the team grew into the game, creating several chances of their own. Their perseverance paid off in the second half when we got the equaliser from the spot, calmly scored by Dylan Sheahan and forced the game into extra time.
Extra time saw both sides battle for a winner, with opportunities at each end but neither team could break the deadlock.
The tie was ultimately decided from the spot, where we held our nerve brilliantly. Every player showed tremendous composure and responsibility in stepping up, and their efforts were rewarded with a 5-4 victory in the shootout.
It was a superb all round team performance and a memorable game to watch, full of determination, teamwork, and belief.
Limerick Desmond U19s Ladies
Askeaton/Kilcornan AFC 2-7 Newcastle West Town
A slow start from the girls allowed Newcastle to capitalise early and score twice. After that, we fought our way back into the game, and as the momentum began to shift, we pulled one back, Jane Kelly finishing well after a great assist from Lily Prendeville. However, Newcastle added a third just before halftime.
After a chat about what needed to change, we came back out stronger. Ten minutes into the second half, Xixi Prendeville scored what could easily be goal of the season with an incredible strike from the halfway line, lobbing the keeper. At 3–2, we were confident, but we struggled to keep our shape, and a few mistakes allowed Newcastle to pull away unfortunately scoring another 4 goals.
