Saturday 16th December

U12 Girls Div 1
Dromore Utd 3-3 Askeaton/Kilcornan
The girls put in a great shift against Dromore ending up with a 3 all draw with Samantha Maune scoring a hat-trick.

U13 Boys Preliminary Cup 1st Round
Carrig Cel 4-1 Askeaton/Kilcornan
U13 boys lost 4-1 v Carrig Celtic. Carrig got an early penalty followed by lucky goal playing with a strong wind at their backs in the first half. Our boys created a few chances but couldn’t find the net. We played with the wind in the 2nd half but Carrig got another penalty against the run of play followed by a free kick to make it 4-0. The boys created a few more chances & after a lovely through ball Tom Harty scored a cracking goal lobbing the keeper from the edge of the box. The boys did really well against the top team in our league. The score line didn’t reflect how well the boys played.

U15 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan v Granagh (walkover to Askeaton/Kilcornan)

U16 Girls Div 1
NCW Town 2-0 Askeaton/Kilcornan
A win for the homeside was the result, but the preformance of the season was from our 8 girls who lined out on Saturday, they were just a credit to themselves, their parents and the club.
They really defended like lionesses and played some great football at times when we only had 7 players with a few injuries through the game.
We held the home team out with 5 minutes left in first half flat out and exhausted we did more in the 2nd half playing even better. Sometimes you loose a game but the respect our girls got after the match from the ncw mangers and referee was a win.
Well done to all, we were very proud of that effort.
Team: Leanne Fitzgerald, Siofra Gallagher, Xixi Prendeville, Kerry Moane, Lucy O Flaherty, Kate Moran, Marie McKnight, Aoibheann O Donoghue.
