We were crowned Division 2 Champions after a thrilling 2-1 win over Shountrade in a winner-takes-all final league clash.
Trailing Shountrade by a point going into the final game, nothing less than victory would do and the team delivered under pressure with a spirited and determined performance.
It was a nightmare start for us as Shountrade took the lead inside the first minute, capitalizing on a corner to go 1–0 ahead. But we responded with character and intensity, and the breakthrough came in the 22nd minute when Conor Mulcair slotted home the equaliser after sustained pressure.
The sides went in level at the break, but just five minutes into the second half, we struck again. A well-placed ball into the box found Cillian Murphy, who rose highest to head home what proved to be the winning goal.
Both sides had chances in a tense closing period. Shountrade pushed hard for an equaliser and came dangerously close, but Luca Zoncada produced a fantastic save to preserve the lead and secure the win.
A massive congratulations to the players, whose hard work all season has paid off with a well-earned league title. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and supporters who have helped throughout the year, attending matches and supporting training. Your efforts have made this achievement possible.

What a way to finish the season!
We delivered a five-star performance on Friday evening brushing aside Knockaderry AFC 5–0 to clinch second place in Division One and secure promotion to the top tier.
From start to finish, we meant business. Every player left it all on the pitch, and the goals came thick and fast in a ruthless display of teamwork and attacking football. Special mention to our defense too—solid as always, helping us end the season with just 5 goals conceded, the best defensive record in the division!
Knockaderry had their moments and were unlucky not to score, but the day was all about one thing: promotion.
To all the supporters who came out, thank you. Your cheers and your presence made a massive difference.

Our Split the Pot draw was held on Tuesday 13th May in Askeaton clubhouse. The winner of €120 was Marie Molyneaux.
Split the Pot is our weekly fundraiser for Askeaton Kilcornan AFC. You can enter by writing your name and contact number on the envelope and place your €2 into the envelope. The envelope should be placed into one of the buckets located in SuperValu, Centra, Top of the Town Bar, Cagney’s Bar, Shanahan’s Shop, Boss Barbers, Brian Collins Bookmakers, Moran’s Hardware, Askeaton Soccer Pitch and Kilcornan Community Hall. You can also enter online at www.askeatonkilcornanafc.ie The draw is held every Tuesday evening. Half of the money entered into the draw is given in prize money and the other half goes towards funding activities for our club. We thank you all for your continued support of this fundraising initiative, it is very much appreciated.
