The U12A boys were a little unlucky to lose 3-1 away to St. Ita’s on Saturday. We got off to a slow start and found ourselves 2-0 down at half time to two scrappy goals. The performance was much better in the second half when, despite going a further goal behind early in the half, we starting playing our best soccer and were on top for the rest of the game. We got a well-deserved goal back through Eoghan Kelly and with a bit more luck in front of goal could have earned a draw. All the same, it’s good to be back to competitive league matches after being without a game for over 2 months.

Our U12B team travelled to Newcastle West Town on Saturday morning for a cup game and put in a valiant performance against a very strong and well drilled side. Our captain on the day Thomas Kenneally was super as he always is with some fantastic ball stopping and ball delivery. Finn Fitzgerald put in a man of the match performance with some amazing tackles. We got a brilliant and well deserved second half goal courtesy of the Anglim twins, Sean finishing off a through ball from Gavin. All of the team never gave up and played their hearts out right until the end.

Great win for the lads on Saturday, we led 2-0 at half time with the third goal coming in late in the second half. A well deserved three points which keeps up top of the table.

ASKEATON KILCORNAN AFC 50/50 SPLIT THE POT!!
Our Split the Pot draw was held on Tuesday 14th January in Askeaton clubhouse. The winner of €170 was Alan Kehoe.
Split the Pot is our weekly fundraiser for Askeaton Kilcornan AFC. You can enter by writing your name and contact number on the envelope and place your €2 into the envelope. The envelope should be placed into one of the buckets located in SuperValu, Centra, Top of the Town Bar, Cagney’s Bar, Shanahan’s Shop, Boss Barbers, Brian Collins Bookmakers, Moran’s Hardware, Askeaton Soccer Pitch and Kilcornan Community Hall. You can also enter online at www.askeatonkilcornanafc.ie The draw is held every Tuesday evening. Half of the money entered into the draw is given in prize money and the other half goes towards funding activities for our club.
