Friday 17th November

U10 Boys
Rathkeale v Askeaton/Kilcornan
On a wet and windy night we played Rathkeale. All the lads showed great spirit and played some lovely football. Goals on the night scored by Mikey.

Saturday 18th November

U11 Boys
Askeaton/Kilcornan 0-0 Kilcolman Rvs
U11s boys played out a very competitive 0-0 draw at home to Kilcolman Rovers in Kilcornan on Saturday morning. We were under the cosh against a very organised Kilcolman in the early stages but kept them out and got stronger as the game went on, and with a bit of luck might have won it in the end. Well played to all the lads

U12 Girls National Trophy Round 2
St Brendans Park 2-0 Askeaton/Kilcornan
U12s girls made the journey to Tralee to face St Brendans Park FC in the National Trophy competition. We gave a great account of ourselves against a good side eventually going down 2-0 to the home side. The girls fought and battled right to the end in very wet and windy weather conditions.
A big thanks to St Brendans Park for refreshments for adults and kids after the game. We made the journey to Tralee by bus and although the result didnt go our way, it was a great bonding session for the girls, all smiles in McDonalds in Tralee on the route home. Big thanks also to Rachel Cregan⁩ for organising the bus, and to the coaches and parents that made the trip to Tralee and braved the weather. Back in league action in 2 weeks time and hopefully continue our good league form.

U16 Girls National Trophy Round 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 0-5 Holycross AFC
Our girls lost out to a very strong Holycross side. Missing a couple of players due to other commitments and unfortunately loosing our captain also after fifteen minutes. Tough battle but each of our girls stepped up and gave it everything. We will move on and be ready for our next game.

U15 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan v Dromore Utd B
U/15 boys hosted Dromore in the league early Saturday morning in Askeaton. The 10am start obviously suited our boys who had a comfortable win. It was a showcase of what a committed squad of players can do. There were strong performances by everyone right throughout the field. Clean sheet at the back with a very solid defence playing it out beautifully from the back, a very strong attacking midfield and our strikers were literally on fire. Some fantastic passages of play led to some great goals, some of which were spectacular. It certainly was a home fan pleaser. Dromore never dropped their heads in fairness to them and they played some lovely football. Well done to the lads.

Castlebar Celtic 5-3 Askeaton/Kilcornan AFC
An early start as we travelled to play Castlebar Celtic in the last 32, The home team started strongly leading 3-0 after 20 minutes and 4-1 at halftime. Unfortunately our slow start left us with a hill to climb. We were much better in the second half and well on top creating plenty of chances just wasn’t enough to take the win home, full time 5-3
Thanks to Castlebar Celtic for the hospitality afterwards.
