U8 Girls
Our U8 girls took part in a blitz on Saturday alongside Rathkeale, Shountrade, and Dromore.
It was wonderful to field two strong teams who played brilliantly and gave their all in every match. They truly did us proud!
U8 BOYS
Breska v Askeaton/Kilcornan
A great morning for our U8 boys, enjoying their game away to Breska Rovers and showing great teamwork and smiles all around.
U10 Boys Group 2 Dual
Askeaton/Kilcornan v Abbeyfeale Utd
The U10 boys welcomed Abbeyfeale to Kilcornan on Saturday, where they played very entertaining side-by-side games.
U12 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 0-3 Shannonside
The U12s put in their best performance of the season playing a big Shannonside team and the league leaders. Great start to the first half then a soft penalty saw us 1-0 down, pushing to equalise we gave away a scrappy second goal. We had chances to score throughout the game and Thomas Kennelly with 3 great saves kept us in the game. All players played with great effort and the communication was excellent, we lost 3-0 in the end but this feels like something to build on in a tough season so far.
U14 Boys Div 2
Shannonside 5-0 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Our U14s had a tough day on the road, away to Shannonside. Conceding twice in the opening eight minutes made it a challenging start, but the team kept battling throughout. We’ll take the lessons, regroup, and march on together.
U16 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 1-0 Creeves Cel
Our U16s had a great 1-0 win v Creeves in Kilcornan. We started well and began to dominate the midfield battle against a big Creeves side with excellent work from Darragh O’Shaughnessy and Eoin McNamara. Our pressure told when we took the lead with a great strike from Mark McDonagh. We continued to create chances but Creeves looked dangerous on the break but we defended well and our goalkeeper Luca made a couple of good saves. Eoin McNamara had a chance just before the break but his strike went wide. We were against the breeze in the second half but we started well and Paudie Ryan was unlucky with a chance to make it 2-0. We were coming under pressure with Creeves getting a number of frees and corners but our defence led by Aaron Cregan and Dylan Sheehan were outstanding. We created a couple of chances on the break and Tom Harty was unlucky with a strike that the Creeves keeper saved with his legs. We held on to leave the final score Askeaton Kilcornan 1 Creeves 0

ASKEATON KILCORNAN AFC 50/50 SPLIT THE POT!!
Our Split the Pot draw was held on Tuesday 17th February in Askeaton clubhouse. The winner of €101 was Munchin c/o P McCarthy.
Split the Pot is our weekly fundraiser for Askeaton Kilcornan AFC. You can enter by writing your name and contact number on the envelope and place your €2 into the envelope. The envelope should be placed into one of the buckets located in SuperValu, Centra, Top of the Town Bar, Cagney’s Bar, Shanahan’s Shop, Boss Barbers, Moran’s Hardware, Askeaton Soccer Pitch and Kilcornan Community Hall. You can also enter online at www.askeatonkilcornanafc.ie The draw is held every Tuesday evening. Half of the money entered into the draw is given in prize money and the other half goes towards funding activities for our club.
