U8 Boys
NON-COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL
U8 Boys
Askeaton/Kilcornan v Granagh
Our U8s played host to Granagh on Saturday morning in Kilcornan Astro. All the lads put in a fantastic effort and showed great sportsmanship throughout. It was a very enjoyable game with plenty of fun, energy, and brilliant team spirit on display.
NON-COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL
U10 Boys Dual Group 2
Shountrade v Askeaton/Kilcornan
It was a really positive outing for us with plenty of great football on show. It was fantastic to see so many goals scored throughout the match, and especially encouraging to have new goalscorers getting on the scoresheet.
Shountrade proved to be as strong an opposition as expected, but our players responded brilliantly. We were delighted with how well the team kept the ball moving, constantly looking for the pass and working together to build attacks.
One of the most noticeable things on the day was how involved every player was. From back to front, everyone contributed, showing terrific progress and growing confidence on the pitch.
A very encouraging performance all round.

U10 Girls
NON-COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL
U10 Girls Single Group 2
Athea v Askeaton/Kilcornan
The U10 girls travelled to Athea on Saturday morning and played a very entertaining non-competitive match. All eight players were fantastic, showing great effort, teamwork, and plenty of skill throughout.
The girls linked up well, defended bravely, and created some lovely attacking moments, making it a very enjoyable game to watch. It was an excellent team performance and a very positive outing for the group.
Well done to all the girls on a great display!

U11 Boys
NON-COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL
U11 Boys Single
Askeaton/Kilcornan v NCW Town
It was a very tight and entertaining game, with the whole team putting in a fantastic collective performance. Despite having no subs and the players naturally tiring as the game went on, the group showed great determination and teamwork from start to finish.
Frankie was the standout in attack, scoring two excellent goals, and the team were unlucky not to add more to the tally. Conor worked hard up front and came close on several occasions, while Jeremy covered every blade of grass, giving everything for the team.
In midfield, Fionn was influential throughout, providing two well-taken assists and helping link play nicely.
Defensively, the back three of Harry, Charlie, and Cormac were superb, staying organised and calm under pressure, and limiting NCW to only a few chances.
Behind them, Robbie had a brilliant game in goal, dealing confidently with anything that came his way.
Overall, it was a great team performance, full of effort, character, and quality. Lots to be proud of!

U12 Girls
U12 Girls SFAI SUBWAY National Cup Round 3
Bridge Celtic 2-5 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Our girls travelled to Clare for another round of the National Cup. After a very slow start, we found ourselves two goals down inside the first 20 minutes and things weren’t looking good. That setback seemed to shake us awake, and we began to work together again, creating numerous chances. Unfortunately, a mix of bad luck and strong defending from Bridge Celtic kept us from converting.
We eventually pulled one back and went into half-time just a goal behind. After a quick team talk, the girls came back out eager to show what they could do.
The second half saw us dominate possession, though the final ball still wasn’t quite clicking. A couple of substitutions brought fresh energy, and it made a massive difference, we got our equaliser and, more importantly, started completely controlling the game. Bridge Celtic struggled to keep us out, and we struck three quick-fire goals, fully deserved for the performance.
A big shout-out to our five subs, who all made an impact when called upon, and to our captain for the day, Aoibhinn Ryan, who leads us into the next round.

U14 Girls
U14 Girls SFAI SUBWAY National Trophy Round 2
Shelbourne 0-4 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Our U14 girls made the trip into the city to take on Shelbourne in Shelbourne Park in the National Trophy — and came away with a superb and fully deserved 4–0 victory.
The opening 15 minutes were evenly matched, but once our girls settled, they began to create the better chances. Their keeper pulled off some excellent saves from efforts by Rachael Harty Maune and Cailín Purtill, with Katie Ivess doing great work on the right wing to carve out those openings. The first half ended 0–0.
The second half kicked off and within five minutes we finally broke the deadlock. Danielle Prendeville slipped a perfectly weighted ball through to Cailín Purtill, who steadied herself and rolled the ball calmly past the keeper for the opener. That goal ignited the girls, and from there they really pushed on.
Moments later came a bit of magic from Rachael Harty Maune. Picking up the ball on the left wing close to halfway, she drove forward on a brilliant mazy run, cut into the box and finished superbly to make it 2–0.
Cailín then grabbed her second of the game, picking the ball up on the edge of the box, skipping past a defender and rifling a shot past the Shelbourne keeper, who had been excellent throughout.
Rachael added her second in the closing stages, running onto a long ball and finishing calmly to make it 4–0 and seal the result.
It was a real team performance, with captain Zoey Hallinan and her centre-back partner Sorcha Cregan running a tight ship at the back all game.
Well done girls — on to the next round!
Squad on the day: Mya Kelly, Allie Fitzsimons, Zoey Hallinan, Sorcha Cregan, Orla Murphy, Katie Ivess, Danielle Prendeville, Lydia Collopy, Laura O’Driscoll, Rachel Harty Maune, Cailín Purtill, Michaela Twohig.

U16 Boys SFAI Subway National Trophy Round 3
Dromore Utd 1-0 Askeaton/Kilcornan
We fell to a narrow 1–0 defeat against neighbours Dromore United in a tightly contested Round 3 clash. With very little separating the sides throughout, a single second-half goal proved decisive.
Despite the setback, the lads showed great determination, battling hard to find an equaliser right up to the final whistle. Their work rate and commitment were clear to see, but on this occasion the breakthrough just wouldn’t come.

Limerick Desmond U19s Ladies
Askeaton/Kilcornan AFC 1-1 Kilcolman Rovers
In a brilliant all-round game, our U19 ladies dug deep and put points on the board for the first time as a team. The girls started strongly, but midway through the first half we suffered an unfortunate blow when our vice-captain, Kerry Moane, went down with a serious injury.
With Sophie O’Brien coming on in defence and Xixi moving into midfield, we stayed solid right up to half-time. After a good team talk, we came out in the second half and pushed hard, with every player giving absolutely everything.
Kilcolman got a lucky break and scored in the final five minutes, but our girls never lost their heads or their fight. And with only seconds remaining, we won a free kick, which Xixi Prendeville buried in the top right corner.
A fantastic performance by everyone involved.
Wishing our vice-captain Kerry Moane a speedy recovery.
Sunday 23rd November

Juniors Division Two
Breska Rovers B 2-4 Askeaton/Kilcornan B
9’ Rob Carrig (Assist Arron McCarthy)
33’ Rob Carrig (Assist Lee Maune)
41’ Dave Holland (Assist Anthony Cregan)
74’ Conor Conway (Pen)
Our Juniors claimed all three points with a strong attacking display against Breska Rovers B.
We flew out of the blocks, with Rob Carrig opening the scoring after just 9 minutes, finishing well after good work from Arron McCarthy. Rob struck again in the 33rd minute, this time teed up by Lee Maune, to double the advantage.
The lead grew to three on 41 minutes when Dave Holland, assisted by Anthony Cregan, found the net to put us firmly in control.
Breska pulled one back from the penalty spot just before the half-time whistle, leaving the score 3-1 at the break. The hosts reduced the deficit further early in the second half, making it 3-2 and setting up a nervy spell for us.
However, we restored our two-goal cushion in the 74th minute, when Conor Conway confidently converted a penalty to make it 4-2.
We saw out the remaining minutes to secure a deserved victory and a valuable three points.
