Friday 22nd March

U9 Boys
Dromore Utd v Askeaton/Kilcornan
Great game on Friday night, one of our first on grass in a good while which took getting used to for the first 15 minutes. Some really good pressure which led to a great come back from being behind with a very well deserved hat trick from Katie who opened up the defence on a few occasions and put us ahead with 5 minutes to go. A crackin shot from Billy from outside the box, only to be denied by the post which was very unlucky and Fionn kept us in it with a few brave saves, everyone battled, so well done to all

Saturday 23rd March

U12 Girls Div 1
NCW Town 1-1 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Laura O’ Driscoll
The U12 girls fought out a hard earned 1-1 draw with NCW Town Saturday morning in tough wet and windy conditions in The Demense. We went down 1-0 early in the 2nd half to a brilliant strike from one of the NCW girls. Our girls didnt drop their heads though and kept plugging away. And to their credit grabbed the equaliser through Laura O’ Driscoll who was causing NCW Town trouble all day. With 2 games left to play this result keeps the girls in contention to finish in the top 3 and qualify for the shield final. Well done girls. Keep it up.
Team: Mya Kelly, Laoise Daly, Sorcha Cregan, Orla Murphy, Zoey Hallinan, Katie Ivess, Laura O’ Driscoll, Samantha Maune, Lydia Collopy, Evelyn O’ Neill, Allie Fitzsimons, Ellen Costello.

U13 Boys Div 2
Glantine 2-3 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Rian Kelly (2)
Hugh Sheehy
U13 Boys played away on Saturday afternoon against Glantine Utd. The first 20mins saw Askeaton-Kilcornan repeatedly threaten the home goals but it wasn’t until the 20th minute that the first goal came with a powerful low strike from Rian Kelly that went in off the post. Some complacency set in and Glantine scored two goals in quick succession against the run of play. Just before half time, Hugh Sheehy restored parity with a deft chip from 10meters out. The game was settled in the second half with a second from Rian Kelly, again a low strike off post and in. The last twenty minutes were somewhat nervy but we held on to win deservedly, 2-3. Our fourth win in a row.
