U8 Boys
U8 BOYS
Shannonside v Askeaton/Kilcornan
A brilliant morning for our U8 boys, who enjoyed a fun, non-competitive away game against Shannonside.

U10 BOYS DUAL GROUP 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan v Broadford Utd
Our U10 boys returned to action on Saturday morning after the mid-season break with matches against Broadford Utd.

U16 Boys Div 2
GB Rovers 5-2 Askeaton/Kilcornan
Our 16 boys were away to GB Rovers on Saturday afternoon in Glin. We were missing a few players due to injury. We started well and went 1-0 up with a great finish from Tom Harty into the bottom corner. GB equalised shortly after from a free kick, however, we went ahead again a few minutes before halftime with a brilliant strike from Mark McDonagh. A defensive mix up led to a GB equaliser leaving it 2-2 at the break.
We started the second half well and had a great chance to go 3-2 up but were denied by a great save by the goalkeeper. GB began to get control and went ahead when their striker finished well. GB went further ahead with a long range free kick made it 4-2. Our lads kept fighting, however GB scored another goal to leave final score GB 5 Askeaton Kilcornan 2.
A good effort from the lads but it wasn’t to be. Thanks to all the U15s for stepping up and helping us on the day.
Limerick Desmond U19s Ladies
Askeaton/Kilcornan AFC 0-1 Abbeyfeale Utd
In a close game, we started well getting the better of Abbeyfeale with shots from Xixe and Lily Prendeville and also keeping solid in backs with Charlotte, Ruby and Sophie. We ran the game playing good 2 touch soccer. 0-0 at the break. Unfortunately in the second half we let our guard down and Abbeyfeale scored but the girls kept the heads and kept going. It wasn’t to be, but that game itself shows there is a brilliant team coming along in the next couple of years. Special mention to the girls who got the call up and looked like they have been playing with the team all season. 2 games left we keep pushing on.
Sunday 8th February

Cois Sionna Desmond Credit Union Division Two
Askeaton/Kilcornan B 0-0 Glantine/Mountcollins Utd
A scoreless game in which we created the better chances and were unfortunate not to score, hitting the crossbar twice and the post, and ultimately had to settle for a share of the points.

ASKEATON/KILCORNAN AFC BUY A PLAQUE SCHEME – LET’S FINISH THE JOB!!
We have come a very long way since purchasing 6 acres of land in 2003 from the O’Grady family at the picturesque Ballymore, Askeaton. We would like to sincerely thank our past AFC committees, players, supporters and families for their selfless efforts in bringing the club to where it is today.
Since June 2003, the club has raised and invested €1.2 million at Páirc Eas Geitine, covering land purchase, site clearance, facility construction and overall club development.
This fundraiser will allow our current, dedicated committee to move forward with the next stage of development, benefiting both present and future generations within our community.
With this in mind, the club launched the Buy A Plaque Scheme a number of years ago inviting members of the local and wider community to show their support. As shown in the photo, there is still plenty of space available for new plaques, and we would love to see it filled. Let’s get this fundraiser finished!
Plaques cost €200 and can be purchased via the link https://askeatonkilcornanafc.ie/product/buy-a-plaque-scheme/For any queries, please contact Pat on 086 8326202.
