Tuesday 10th September
U15 Boys Div 2
Askeaton/Kilcornan 2-2 Shountrade
Our lads played their second match of the season v Shountrade on Monday night. We were playing against the breeze in the first half and we held our own until just before half time when Shountrade got a corner and scored with a good header.
We started the second half well and were on level terms within a minute with a good strike from Mark McDonagh across the keeper into the bottom corner. The game remained level until mid way in the second half when Shountrade went ahead. We kept battling away and we were awarded with an equaliser in the last ten minutes. The ball was played behind the Shountrade defence and
Tommy Harty showed great pace to reach the ball before the Shountrade keeper and he finished superbly to level the match. A good team performance from all 12 players. We remain unbeaten after 2 matches.

U12 Boys Div 5

The 12Bs kicked off their season on Wednesday evening with a great win over Kilcolman Rovers B. We had a fantastic first half performance going well up by half time with goals from Sean Anglim, Ordhan Walsh, Ruairi Flanagan and David Mc Mahon. Kilcolman came on strong in the second half, but we kept a clean sheet with a massive defence performance. Thomas Kennelley manned the goal and pulled off some incredible saves. Well done to all and onwards and upwards for the rest of the season.

U12 Boys Div 2
Rathkeale AFC 1-3 Askeaton/Kilcornan A

The U12 boys (and girls ) had a good win away to Rathkeale. We went behind after 10 minutes but didn’t let the heads drop, and fought back to level the match through a clinical Eoghan Kelly strike before half-time. All 12 players available worked hard as a team to make sure the effort levels didn’t drop in the second half, and were rewarded with fine efforts from Luke Mungovan and Kayden Delahunty to secure a well-deserved 3-1 win, and continue our strong start to the season.

A tough game for our U12 Bs against a very strong Broadford side but they all displayed some good football and fought courageously until the final whistle.

ASKEATON KILCORNAN AFC 50/50 SPLIT THE POT!!
Our Split the Pot draw was held Tuesday, September 10th in Askeaton clubhouse. The winner of €122 was Charles Harte.
Split the Pot is our weekly fundraiser for Askeaton Kilcornan AFC. You can enter by writing your name and contact number on the envelope and place your €2 into the envelope. The envelope should be placed into one of the buckets located in SuperValu, Centra, Top of the Town Bar, Cagney’s Bar, Shanahan’s Shop, Boss Barbers, Brian Collins Bookmakers, Moran’s Hardware, Askeaton Soccer Pitch and Kilcornan Community Hall. You can also enter online at www.askeatonkilcornanafc.ie The draw is held every Tuesday evening. Half of the money entered into the draw is given in prize money and the other half goes towards funding activities for our club. We thank you all for your continued support of this fundraising initiative, it is very much appreciated.
